For many of us, the way we shop for groceries has changed in light of Covid-19? At Lowe’s foods, you can order your groceries online and a staff shops for you and you can just drive up and claim your bounty. However, they don’t ride home with you and put them in your refrigerator. Some people are using other food shipping services where your groceries will arrive on your doorstep. To ensure the safe travel of your goods, we need packaging.

What role does food packaging play as we adjust the way we do life because of the Corona virus? Something that’s affecting everyone right now because all of us were working at home as Covid-19 and I know there’s been a lot of discussion people that don’t know how packaging works, how it distributed. There’s a fear that Covid could be transmitted through food packaging. I’m reflecting on what packaging can and should be doing to help this time of crisis. Considering all the main function of packaging like a communication: it now could encourage the disposals for the social safety like the distancing throw temporary changes to the logo or messaging on the label and for trying to minimize the crisis also by adding a way to laugh. Some package solution can help by lighting the mood or temporarily distracting us from the constant bad news.

I think the biggest challenge now for the food packaging is helping people stay in their home and minimize contact with the orders, and so a new design is required in order to functionally respond to these needs. I don’t believe that there is a medical correlation between the food packaging and the Corona virus, but behind the packaging for the Corona virus, definitely the new packaging could help. The delivery service, for example, are the current trends and packaging role is important for removing the barriers in that sense-by offering special price for delivery and good condition in terms of picking and delivery.

For several years, I have been working on the system of packaging design for Home Delivered E-groceries because the E-grocery mix a food order to several delivery addresses on an irregular occasion. In my opinion, the real challenge for the packaging now is not the direct relation with the Corona virus, but definitely the indirect correlation for the coronavirus.
