We all know that the packaging of brand is becoming more and more important in our daily life. There are tens of thousands of packaging in the world and every packaging tells a story about your brand along with the product itself. Is it an expensive product? Is it a small product? Or is it eco-friendly, etc.?

You can answer many of these questions by just looking at the packaging and it will also give you a first insight about the brand. Before buying a product, we often see the packaging first. As the going says, don’t judge a book by its cover, but unfortunately, it’s something we all do in one way or another-we tend to judge someone’s professionalism and working ethic based on their appearance. We may grade the quality of food based on its photo in the menu, and may decide whether we will enjoy a book based on its cover, literally. Product packaging is the same. Making quality in this area is equally crucial to quality of your actual product.

Packaging is important for various reasons.

First and foremost, it protects your products when being handled and shipped to various retail locations, because of that, make sure that your customers don’t receive faulty products that must be refunded or exchanged.

Secondly, packaging plays an important role too as a marketing tool. It’s the first thing shoppers see when purchasing your product and it could make your goods stand out on the shelf catching the eye of the shoppers. In some research, it shows that at least one third of product decision is based on packaging along with personal preferences, and also for online consumers, which are the highest nowadays because of the ongoing pandemic. Half of the online consumers say that they will not return and make another purchase if they receive products in premium packaging. This shows and gives us a very important information. That’s why brands should take their packaging seriously.

Last but not at least, your product should match with your packaging. For example, if you are a sustainable textile brand who mostly use organic materials with minimum waste and you also make your branding like that, then your packaging choice should be similar. It’s not correct to use a very luxurious un-recyclable paper with plastic coatings on it. Instead, you should go for a recyclable and preferably FSC certified paper or similar, and for printing, you can choose vegetable-based things in Sam’s packaging. Sam’s packaging has limitless options and they always direct customers to use eco-friendly but also high-quality materials.

I hope this passage provides some good insights for people who are looking to understand the importance of packaging. Of course, there are many other details for a good packaging.
